THE OUTCOME OF THIS SURVEY COULD HERALD THE BIRTH OF AN ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME INTENDED AS AN INTEGRATION TOOL, PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR QUALIFIED PRACTITIONERS, HELPING THEM DEVELOP AND SUSTAIN ATHRIVING PRACTICE WITH VISION AND INSPIRATION.

Dear Practitioner

My name is Terri George and I am a Complementary Practitioner and teacher on a mission.

I have been working in this Industry for nearly 25 years and recently, my company, Return to Essence Limited, did a short, informal survey with a group of teachers from some of the most influential Complementary Therapy Institutions in England.   The Schools included Homeopathy, Reflexology, Massage, Colour Therapy, Gem & Essence Therapy, Reiki, Osteopathy, Cranial Sacral, Shiatsu, Naturopathy and various models of Healing.

The survey was focused around the following questions:

1. Does the curriculum emphasis personal development as a priority to being an effective practitioner/therapist/healer?
2. Do teachers think Graduates complete their training with a clear sense of what they have to offer by way of their world task and unique, personal signature?
3. Do you feel Complementary Therapists graduate well equipped with a beneficial, personal maintenance programme that supports their daily needs that are inspiring and purposeful?
4. Are students given enough guidance around fostering their physical stamina, well-being and presence of mind required to run a thriving practice?
5. Are Graduates supported to establish a professional practice when they leave their training?
6. Are students taught the energetic interaction that takes place with every encounter in sessions and treatments, regardless of the modality of healing?
7. Do schools, colleges and institutions teach their students the more spiritual, esoteric side of healing and how Positive Intention plays a vital role in the success of sessions and treatments in general?
8. Do they think there is a need for all or any of the above?”

In almost every case teachers felt a few of the above topics mentioned were included in their curriculum but there was a definite need for additional tuition around these subjects. 

The answers also varied, depending on the nature of the Therapy and School in question.

Given the response from these leaders in the Industry, we felt motivated to continue this survey and ask YOU THE PRACTITIONER, THERAPIST, HEALER, what you think and feel is needed to help you run a thriving practice.
